Pheasant hunting in the Kroměříž pheasant center is organized in the traditional spirit of Czech hunting. The pheasants are mature and fully flighted, as they have been released freely since September in the pheasant park, which covers an area of 200 hectares, on which hunting can be held. The surrounding hunting area is adjacent to the pheasant farm itself, with an area of 600 hectares.
The hunt begins with breakfast.
In the morning at 9:00 a.m. there is a ceremonial opening of the hunt accompanied by academic trumpeters. After boarding, organizational information about the hunt follows, followed by a transfer to the pheasant house on foot. A hunt is usually made up of 4 – 5 heals.
Thanks to the system of paths, the individual paths are built in such a way that cars do not have to drive over them, but it is possible to comfortably walk to the individual stations.
Hunting habitats are usually created at intersections in cornfields that are surrounded by thorn and woodland. Most pheasants are found in them. These pheasants are subsequently chased away by hunters. They can hunt all the time from the thousands of pheasants that fly past them.
Each hunter has his charger with him, which also counts pheasants caught.
The second leche is followed by lunch.
Around 15.00 is usually the end of the hunt, which ends with a traditional parade with all the honors to the game and hunting customs that belong to the hunt.
Hunts can be organized as two-day hunts, with hunting on Friday all day and Saturday morning.
