Hunting ground Libochová is famous for organizing traditional hare hunts by local gamekeepers. Annually, around 150 pieces are harvested. Due to their high numbers in the hunting ground, gamekeepers can also offer other hunters the opportunity for fee-based hunts in the form of drives.
Hunting ground Libochová is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands near the town of Křižanov. The entire hunting ground has a hilly character with plenty of hedges and ravines. Overgrown hedges and the edges of smaller fields provide a suitable environment for their occurrence. Most of the hunting ground is divided by smaller forests, which are spruce and pine.
During the hunts, these forests are walked through, and dogs drive the hares towards the shooters in the fields with barking. Shooters have the option to participate in the actual drive, which is very physically demanding, as some of the forests consist mainly of thickets, or they can be positioned around the driven area and wait for the hares to start running among them.
Similar hunts in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands are a pleasant diversion, as few people today have the opportunity to participate in a hunt where the harvests of hunted game consistently number around 30 harvested hares.
