The Grossglockner Hunting area is a typical Alpine hunting ground, characterized by dominant peaks of massive mountains, deep valleys, and flawless views of neighboring and distant mountains in the Alps.

The terrain is challenging and typical for high mountains. One must be prepared for hikes longer than an hour to the hunting site from the guesthouse, either along contour lines or directly following the ascent.

The valleys are forested right near the villages, but as soon as hunters go into the mountains, trees become scarce and only a strip of grasses and herbs on the slopes remains. Grassy slopes mix with small or larger stone tongues, which gradually transition into impassable mountain walls.

It is precisely in these places that marmots are abundant, as this terrain is an ideal environment for them.
