Hunting ground Troskotovice

The hunting ground Troskotovice is a field hunt at the Nové Mlýny reservoir with a view of the Pálava Hills in the Czech Republic

Hunting ground Troskotovice offers interesting hunting  in addition to beautiful views of South Moravia. And that is, for example, cormorant hunting or goose hunting.

The Nové Mlýny water reservoir, a few kilometers away, and many associated large ponds are located near the hunting grounds. The entire region is dominated by the river Dyje. From these words alone, it is clear that this is a paradise for waterfowl, which are very abundant in this fertile part of the Czech Republic.

There are two large ponds of 10 and 15 hectares in the hunting area, which are regularly visited by cormorants, who can hunt here with exception.

In the fall, geese arrive here in flocks of ten thousand, and the geese fly into the cut stubble of grain or corn.

Roe deer are unusually successful here, which corresponds to the strong hunted trophies, when they catch a medal deer almost every year.

Hare game also has its place here, and a hare hunt is organized every year.

About the chase

Area: 1600
Area: Lowland
Species: Fields

Hunting ground Troskotovice is a field hunting with high nutritional value. Crops rich in sustenance and shelter are grown in large fields. This is mainly used by roe deer, which is the main hunted cloven-hoofed animal.

Although it is a lowland, it is typical for southern Moravia – rolling hills with a mosaic of fields create a very pleasant environment for summer and autumn hunting.

Although the hunting is in the fields, the fields are lined with windbreaks that are easily more than 20 meters wide and thus form a safe cover for the small and clawed animals there.

The Miroslavka stream flows through the hunting grounds and feeds two local ponds. There are reeds, wetlands and alder trees around the stream.

In the middle of the hunting grounds is a former sand pit that has grown overgrown over time and created a natural overgrown mound that is not farmed. It is precisely such landscape elements that contribute to the rich biodiversity that this area offers. A shining example of this is partridge flocks, where their numbers are constantly increasing.
