Game reserve Janovská Dolina

The Janovská Dolina Nature Reserve is located in the foothills of Nízké Jeseník in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Janovská Dolina nature reserve impresses at first sight with its rugged mountain landscape. And then there are more and more views that will captivate the visitors and hunters of the range.

The beautiful environment and surrounding landscape is not the only advantage that the nature reserve has. The main goal of the field is the breeding and hunting of Carpathian red deer, which are exceptionally successful here and reach trophy sizes of over 250 CIC. Black game and the roe deer population, which arose here from the original gene pool when the park was established, are thriving in the nature reserve.

At the same time, the nature reserve is involved in a breeding program for rare milu deer, which were almost exterminated in their homeland. White-tailed deer are also bred in the reserve, and their numbers are increasing.

About the chase

Area: 370
Area: Foothills on Nízký Jeseník
Species: Miscellaneous (Meadows/ forests)

Every corner of the Janovská Dolina nature reserve is original. Hills, valleys, plateaus, views of adjacent mountains, forests or a long view to Poland through the nearby village of Janow enhance the hunting experience.

In the nature reserve, forests and groves alternate with thickets and swamps that follow the mountain meadows. Thorns grow along the contour lines on the preserved boundaries, or linear plantings and solitary trees are restored here.

The nature reserve is managed in eco mode. As part of various programs, ponds and wetlands are created here, in which spotted salamanders, native species of amphibians and waterfowl live.

In the reserve, it is possible to fish in the nearby pond, which is adjacent to the hunting cabins. Hunters are accommodated in these cabins.

Hunting is difficult due to the natural terrain and requires a lot of hunting luck, but also skill. There is no guarantee that hunters will be successful during their first hunting trips.

Deer live hidden in impenetrable thickets, and if they come out to graze, it is not easy to get within hunting distance of them. If the hunters are used to hunting at long distances, such hunting is also allowed.

The greatest hunting experience is the deer rut, during which deer can be heard from different corners of the park. At the same time, this period is suitable for hunting red deer, which come out of their hidden life into the open meadows and show themselves in all their power.

It is also rare to see a deer fight.
