Hunting fallow buck in the Šumava mountains during the fallow deer rut is among other beautiful experiences together with hunting red stag during the red deer rut in Czech forests and groves.
The hunt takes place in the Přízeř hunting ground, which has over 3,500 hectares and is located near Rožmberk nad Vltavou, which is the gateway to the mountains.
Fallow buck are hunted in this location from 140 to 180 CIC and many of them grow to medal values.
Hunting fallow buck during the fallow deer rut is an interesting hunting method, where in the morning hunters stalk in the forest and search for groaning fallow buck. In the evening, hunters rather sit on high seat hunting and on high tree stands in the meadows.
The hunting distance is usually from 80 to 200 meters.
For a successful hunt, at least 3 to 5 days in the second half of October are required, when the activity of fallow buck during the rut is at its highest level.
Accommodation is provided in the stylish guesthouse U Fořta, which is located directly in the hunting ground.
