Duck hunt in Serbia takes place exclusively on ponds with wild populations of ducks, coots and cormorants. During winter weather, with a bit of luck, hunters can also see and hunt geese that visit here. Usually, there are about 200 to 500 geese.
In contrast, ducks are found here in their thousands. The shallow ponds are partly covered with reeds. This combination creates ideal conditions for waterfowl all year round in the form of high-quality shelter and plenty of food.
Ducks are always hunted during the morning hunt. The afternoon can be filled with hunting wild pheasants in the form of creeping, if the hunters wish.
Ducks are hunted from pontoons, banks, and from behind shelters. Usually each hunter fires 100 to 200 shots per morning.
