In the previous article on the subject of Individuálních lovech v Česku, část 1: čekaná we analyzed the possibilities and techniques of hunting for ants. In today's article, we will bring you closer to shucking, which is another possible technique of individual hunting, but it requires great skills of the hunter to make the hunt successful. The expression shuffling is already unusual in itself and in translation it is known from world languages in German under the name "Pirsch". For example, the English language does not know this term and "Game stalking" is commonly used. The original meaning of the Czech way of hunting the skunk is derived from the style, the way of walking. When the hunter slowly shuffles, shuffles, sneaks up to the game through nature.
As it was already written in the previous article, the waiting hunter sits hidden either on a perch or in a cover and waits for the game to come to him at a suitable hunting distance. For this, the hunter can, of course, use various techniques to attract the game closer to him.
The opposite of this hunting is prowling, where the hunter intensively searches for the game and tries to get to it at the best possible distance in order to hunt. Sometimes the hunter walks through the landscape and goes cautiously to discover some game and other times the hunter goes after a specific game that he knows about. Which is easier? In both cases, circumstances and caution play a very important role.
Animals are very smart, they have far better senses than humans. She hears, sees, feels better, and on top of that, she is alert and constantly watches her surroundings. So getting to her is not easy at all. It could be said that this is one of the most difficult disciplines of individual hunting. The hunter must perfectly manage hidden movement, use terrain waves, natural cover near the game and must be able to move inconspicuously. Furthermore, you must constantly watch the direction of the wind, because the wind changes every moment and in some cases it is very treacherous, when it turns into spirals, headwinds in certain places and can betray you because of this.
Once a hunter decides on this way of hunting, he will master it and will not want to hunt any other way. Adrenaline rises at the moment of seeing the game that the hunter wants to get to. The closer he creeps to the game, the more careful he is because of the risk of tripping the game, and the more he enjoys hunting. Hunting from the ground brings with it a much closer contact with the game than from a hunting device.
It is possible to get a good hunting shot unnoticed. But are suitable shooting conditions always available? Today's hunters use, for example, a range finder to safely determine the distance. It is mainly used for hunting at longer distances, which can be around 300 to 400 meters. The hunter must therefore adjust the scope to this distance. Another helper is various bipods or tripods, which the hunter carries with him and function as a tripod to support the weapon. Of course, it is possible to hunt without support, which requires good shooting skills.
The hunter can use the so-called scows, or modified paths that make up hunting trails. These paths lead through suitable terrain, they must be free of twigs and other disturbing elements so that the hunter can get to the game as quietly as possible. All it takes is one careless step on a twig, which will snap under the hunter and he can run away.
If the hunter manages to get to the game undetected, to take a suitable shooting position, then his hunt will be successful and the experience will be enhanced by all the effort spent sneaking up to the game.
